10th April 1912, just over 100 years ago, the biggest ship in the world – the Titanic – sailed from Southampton on her maiden voyage.

Her passengers included some of the richest and most famous people of the time. On 15th April, after hitting an iceberg, the Titanic sank two miles to the sea bed, leaving only 822 survivors.

This fascinating collection of eyewitness accounts (read by actors), unscripted group discussions about the tragedy, press cuttings, photographs and music from the time combine to give hours of  English practice.

Who could fail to be moved to tears by survivors’ accounts of this tragedy, such as the ship’s band playing a hauntingly beautiful tune as the great Titanic slipped beneath the waves?

Listening to unscripted conversations between native speakers is essential to gaining a fuller understanding of the English language and to train your ear. All these conversations are fully transcribed and notated so you can understand every word.

This course is ideal for high intermediate to advanced level students. It comes in four modules, each containing scripted and unscripted audio materials.

The course will be permanently available to you in your DailyStep Personal Lesson Bank so you can study the course at your leisure and as often as you like. You can also download it to your PC, tablet or smartphone.
